We don't do it alone - Note from Van

We don't do it alone - Note from Van

Today's note is from Van. All our team is important but this lovely lady serves as our accountant in Vietnam. Since she came on she has made my job so much easier. She's amazing! Please enjoy todays note. And please send notes of encouragement if led to do so;

   "I always hoped that I could help less-fortunate people when I was at university. My dream came true as I am a part of GIBTK family. How lucky I am! This is a good environment for me to build up my character, working skills, solve my emotions in a healthy way and share compassion for others.  I used to think that we could just help the poor when we were rich, however that was not completely right. We can still help them while we don't have a lot of money. How do we do that?

   We try to understand their stories and situation to encourage them to be healthier and stronger.
Personally, it is very important to me to be encouraged. Encouragement produces motivation that helps me overcome difficulties, hurt and especially brings confidence in myself and hope to my life. And this is the most significant thing that I always receive from GIBTK leaders, teammates, children and GIBTK's donors. I am truly grateful for that.

   Actually, it is easy to fall down and stay in the situation when we feel stressful or don't feel good about ourselves or have negative thinking. Those are not good for us! And we cannot liberate ourselves to freedom without encouragement. My teammates always come to me and especially give me their encouragement whenever I face difficulties and hurt in my life.  They show their real love and say the words that mean a lot to me. Sometimes I don't accept their encouragement and think that I could solve it by myself. However, I can feel a great difference when I receive encouragement from others. I feel encouraged when my teammates and leaders share that I can do it! I have done a great job, fighting!; or my English is better; they trust me.  I become more confident in myself. And then I figure it out.

   I never feel alone or left behind to fight by myself as a member of GIBTK. I am touched with the love from one another. Our team is interdependent to accomplish our common goal. I believe that I always belong to GIBTK team and my team is always besides me. "Walking with your team in the dark is better than walking alone in the light."

   Learning is one of cultures in GIBTK and helps us continue to grow and learn. One thing that I am truly impressed with, is that my leaders and donors encourage and build our team up by sharing their life experiences and lessons. From their sharing, I feel their unconditional love and passion to the GIBTK team.

   I am so happy that my teammates and I can encourage and give hope to our children and the housemothers we work with. It would be great if our children encouraged people around them in the future. So amazing!

   Encouraging people around me brings happiness to me. It seems like I just fuel new energy to them and make them stronger to overcome difficulties. And I recognize that my encouraging everyone, makes me encouraged as well. I will get more energy to share my love and contribute my small part in our team to have effective outcomes. I do believe that encouragement in a timely manner can change everything for success.
Thanks so much for your reading."
Love.
Van Phan.

Sincerely,
