Nhung's Journey 3-4-15

Nhung's Journey 3-4-15
Here is a note from another of our extraordinary team leaders. Nhung (Lily as my daughter Kristina calls her) is an amazing example of willingness and action. She has made huge steps in her personal life as well as working on her strengths as a leader.
Here is Nhung's letter to us;

  "I am truly blessed to be a member of GIBTK family where I have found my real dream. There are too many different emotions for me at this time. I have been working at GIBTK for nearly 5 years, what I have been impressed most is relationship. It is not only the relationship between teammates with each other but also the relationship between donors and our team with the children, with those we helped.

Nhung with Thao, Thao has grown up in our homes and is currently going to college

    I have recognized that GIBTK is like a real family that relationship values most. I felt confused about "relationship" at the first time. Why did we have to build the relationship with recipients, co-workers and kids? How could we have real relationship? However I have gradually learned it when I saw unconditional love from Robert, Dorothea, Chi Tam, other teammates and Donors to our children and recipients. It is obvious that when we see it, we get it.

    Sometimes we pay too much attention to ourselves and we do not care about people around. However a little thing can make a big difference in people's lives. There is a sentence I have implemented in my life: "People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care". That is what GIBTK team is preserving and developing day by day with our hearts. I do believe that the love from our hearts will win everything and transform people's lives.

    My real happiness is to be a bridge between Donors and children, Donors with our recipients. The Donors' unconditional love has touched my heart. Through letters, your relationship with the recipients and children becomes closer and closer. Even I burst into tears when reading your letters to them. It seems simple but not many people can do it. You all show your empathy with the pains of children's parents whose son or daughter has suffered a fatal disease. You were happy with their broad smiles when the children passed their exam or the patients got their successful surgeries or had safe compassion houses, etc.

    I can see that our children and recipients were very delighted to get the Donors' reply. Time flies so fast, most of the small children have become teenagers and adults but they still listen to your precious advice. Perhaps you can feel it through their letters. Honestly, most of them shared with us: "I am overwhelmed with happiness when I get any reply from donors or pen pal friends. I wish I could meet them one day so that I can show my gratitude to their love and care. Please let them know that I miss and love them very much."

   You do all for them with your hearts without receiving back. Actually your love means a lot to them and I cannot express it in words.

Impressing that you all keep an eye on little steps of the children, nurture their dreams and direct and inspire them to have a real dream for their life. Your warm hearts have lightened up their new hopes to have a better life. You all regard our children as your siblings, daughters, sons and grandchildren. This has brought the most meaningful spirit values that make them to make efforts to study better. Thanks to this, our children's values have been increasing remarkably. They feel more valuable and confident in themselves.

Nothing can be happier than seeing children grow and have a clear goal for their future. I am very grateful to GIBTK and the Donors that build up my character and show me what real love is.

    One more thing that makes me very happy is that we still keep in touch with those we help every six months or one year. It was not an assignment at all but it comes from our hearts. I am so excited and willing to make any phone calls to those we helped. And we just let them know that we would love to know what's going on with their current life? How are they doing? I know that you all will smile happily to know that their current life makes a real change.

From the bottom of my heart, I really admire and thank you very much to all the Donors giving your unconditional love to our children and recipients.

You all make a big difference in their lives. I am very grateful for everything you have done for our children and people in Viet Nam. Although you live far  a thousand miles away but your love is so tremendous and close to us.

I do hope that you all will always accompany with us so that we can transform more children not only in Viet Nam but also all over the world."
